HAPPY 100TH BIRTHDAY TATA MADIBA!

Updated: Jul 16

Club Travel, through its Club Cares initiative, hosted a party in celebration of Tata Nelson Mandela’s 100th birthday. Club Travel, in partnership with Little Lambs, an NPO assisting crèches in the Du Noon Township near Cape Town, hosted 130 children ages 2 – 7 at the Italian Club in Milnerton.

The look on the little faces when entering the hall – made up with balloons, jumping castle and sweets galore – was priceless! A wide range of entertainment from clowns, balloon shapers, petting zoo and indoor train rides provided the kids with tons of activity and fun. Attending the event on the day were staff and volunteers from Little Lambs, along with Club Travel’s management and staff.

“Madiba loved children and I can think of no better way to honour his legacy than making the little one’s day by making them feel special”, said Luana Visagie, Marketing Manager Club Travel and Club Cares custodian.

When asked for comment, Wally Gaynor, Managing Director of Club Travel said, “As a company Club Travel prides itself on its DNA which we strive to live in everything we do. When we say Club Cares, we imply that we care about our people, our customers, our community and our country. We’d like to think that what we did here today is exactly what Madiba himself would have done – which is showing how much we care about making a difference in the lives of children that are less fortunate than most.”

The highlight of the day was cutting the cake and singing happy birthday to Tata Madiba. Each child left with their own gift bag filled with goodies and gift. All the games and activities that were enjoyed on the day were also donated to the crèches’ to ensure many more hours of fun.
