LITTLE LAMBS – GIVING HOPE

Updated: Jun 4, 2020

To run social upliftment projects like the ones Little Lambs do, requires more than just hard work and dedication. It needs the support and contribution of others. This is where Club Cares heeds the call of those in need.

Little Lambs recognised the severe basic human needs in one of Cape Town’s poorest townships, Du Noon, and acted upon it. Not only do they run a Play-to-Learn centre from their offices just outside the township, but they also provide care-packs to mother and newborns, as well as facilitate the upliftment, education and support of teenage girls in the community.

To assist in their Teenage Packs project, Little Lambs approached Club Cares to contribute in a meaningful and lasting way, by having some of our staff “adopt” girls for the duration of a year.

In total, we’ve adopted 12 girls on behalf of Club Travel.

During the year we send out monthly care-packs to our girls, which includes basics like soap, toothpaste, sanitary pads and other toiletries.

We also try and include a special treat each month – with items ranging from school uniform basics to scarves or a nightgown in winter, or some funky sunglasses or hair accessories in summer. We also include books and stationery from time to time.

We’ve been in partnership with Little Lambs on this project for over 18 months and from the feedback we’ve received to date, our contributions are making a meaningful impact on the lives of “our” girls.

Should it be placed on your heart to get involved in any of Little Lambs’ projects, you can visit their website.
